Let Them Be Kids
Let them be kids -Go easy on them (just for the day)
I'm sure you want for your children to be on their best behaviour. But that often leads to stern words, which in turn lead to tension, frowning faces and even tears.
Let your kids get away with a little more than usual, just for our session. While we always want them to be safe, it is also fine to let them run and climb a bit, or be a little silly, or act a little cheeky, Because those lead to natural expressions, authentic smiles and giggles, and real family connections, which is always what I aim to capture.
DON’T ASK THEM TO SMILE
I want you to remember how you felt about each other in this time of your life. I will ask you to play, to hug, to joke, to chase, to tickle, to laugh. And as your love for each other play across your faces, I will be there to capture the magic. The smiles will come naturally.
DON’T SET EXPECTATIONS
At the session, there is no expectation for children to "perform". They can take their time warming up, and if they want to be in your arms all the time, that is fine too! I will be my extra silly self all along, and chances are they will be relaxed and smiling at my antics in no time!
HAVE FUN
Mom and dad, this tip is for you! If your children see that you’re having fun, they’re bound to jump in and have fun too. Be Silly, Dance, laugh, run and play
ROLL WITH THE PUNCHES
Some of the most cherished images I've taken are of children in spontaneous poses. They exude natural excitement as they share their moves or ideas. I specialize in capturing tender and caring moments when a child seeks comfort or affection. Prepare to be amazed by the stunning images we can produce together.
BRIBE THEM.. YES, YOU HEARD THAT RIGHT!
It can make a difference when children and toddlers have something exciting to anticipate. As my boys grow older, I organize a visit to the movies or their preferred restaurant after our family photo session. For younger kids, prepare "surprises" that are easy to carry, like stickers or bubbles. If you intend to use candy or snacks as incentives during the session, opt for items without coloring to prevent stains on their clothes or lips. I often use small treats such as smarties or cheerios. We also provide a toy treasure chest at the end of the session
FEW MORE TIPS
Lets CREATE FUN filled session
Ensure Everyone is Well-Rested: A little extra nap, even for adults, can make a big difference. A good night's sleep can work wonders.
Dress Comfortably and Keep Warm: Layer up for chilly weather to keep the kids happy and content. Personalize with Accessories: Let your child's personality shine through with accessories. Celebrate their uniqueness and cherish the small moments of their childhood.
Embrace the "Imperfections": Those quirky details like unruly hair and beloved dirty toys are memories worth capturing.
Arrive with Full Bellies: Hungry kids are not happy kids, but avoid feeding them in the car to prevent messes.
Plan a Memorable Activity: Create lasting memories with activities like a campfire with s’mores, dancing in the rain, playing in mud puddles, a snowball fight, a visit to the pumpkin patch, or picking out a Christmas tree.
